Military Saves sponsors three awards for organizations participating in Military Saves Week.
The Military Saves Designation of Savings Excellence (DOSE), the Savings Champion Award, and the Community Impact Award. The DOSE and Savings Champion Award are annual industry-respected awards that recognize organizations who effectively and actively promote saving strategies during Military Saves Week.
New in 2023 is the Community Impact Award. This award recognizes organizations who effectively promote taking the Military Saves Pledge to their audiences.
About the Designation of Savings Excellence Award
Banks and Credit Unions play an important role in Military Saves Week by making it easy for their customers and members to save. When individuals utilize saving accounts they build financial security and financial institutions increase deposits, build goodwill, and strengthen relationships.
That’s why we recognize financial institutions that show exceptional achievement in Military Saves Week activities by awarding them the Designation of Savings Excellence.
Designees are recognized by:
- Military Saves Designation of Savings Excellence award.
- A digital seal to display on your website and share on social media.
- Recognition on MilitarySaves.org.
- Recognition in a national press release and individually in local releases
- Honored at the annual America Saves Summit
Eligibility requirements:
- Signed up to participate in the current year of Military Saves Week.
- Demonstrated efforts in encouraging saving during Military Saves Week.
- Complete the Designation of Saving Excellence Application which is included in the Military Saves Week Reporting Survey.
Awards will be given based on the completed information provided through the Designation of Savings Excellence Application within the Military Saves Week Reporting Survey.
About the Savings Champion Award
Every Military Saves Week, hundreds of participating organizations around the world, including non-profits, military installations, and government agencies, go the extra mile to help military families save money and assess their financial habits. We want to recognize those organizations who go above and beyond during Military Saves Week with our Savings Champion Award.
2021 Savings Champion: USS Makin Island
The Savings Champion Award is a national recognition that is awarded by Military Saves with the support of a selection committee comprised of staff and leadership in all program initiatives.
Winners are recognized by:
- Military Saves Savings Champion Award.
- A digital badge to display on your website and share on social media.
- Recognition on MilitarySaves.org social media and email communications.
- Recognition in a national press release and individually in local releases.
- Honored at the annual America Saves Summit
Eligibility requirements:
- Signed up to participate in Military Saves Week.
- Encourage the military community to make a commitment and savings plan through the Military Saves Pledge.
- Promote MSW through a variety of events and social activities.
- Complete the Savings Champion Application which is included in the Military Saves Week Reporting Survey.
- Submission of samples of marketing materials.
Awards will be given based on the completed information provided through the Military Saves Week Reporting Survey.
About the Community Impact Award
The Community Impact Award recognizes those organizations who use the Military Saves Pledge to promote setting a saving goal and making a plan to reach that goal. This award builds on the well-recognized concept that individuals with a saving plan are twice as likely to save successfully.

- Honored at the annual America Saves Summit
Eligibility requirements:
All organizations that are signed up to participate in the current year of Military Saves Week are eligible for the Community Impact Award. Organizations must request and use an Embeddable Military Saves Pledge and will be considered based on the total number of pledges taken by your audience members. This number will be automatically reported to Military Saves.
