Meet the 2018 recipients of the America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence

Today, 37 banks, credits unions, and military-affiliated organized were awarded the America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence. The award is presented annually to financial institutions that make extraordinary efforts to encourage saving during America Saves Week/Military Saves Week and succeeded in encouraging customers and to open and add to wealth-building accounts.

This is the first year military-affiliated organizations were recognized.

“This year’s designees are the leaders in their field at responding to the savings crisis by working directly with American families to open and add to savings accounts," said George Barany, director of America Saves. "These banks, credit unions and military-affiliated organizations don’t just tell people why it’s important to save, they help them do it.”

Just two in five American households report making good or excellent savings progress. America Saves Week is an annual opportunity for people to assess their savings status and make a plan to start or increase saving, and for organizations like banks or credit unions to support good savings behavior. America Saves Week is coordinated each year by America Saves and the American Savings Education Council>> Learn more about America Saves Week here.
